Thanks for your reminder..I'm using Fedora and loaded winmail under wine..no problems but I can't link files I want to open to winmail... The file address is different in Linex & my trusty son is coming over to help me unravel this problem. In a week I can give a more informed comment Ta... John

Small but really handy utility, which is super easy to use. Save me a lot of work. Unlike other similar tools, it can display whole e-mail message, not just the attachment(s). And all this in my native language. I highly recommend it. Thanks Eolsoft.

The Winmail Opener product was advertised as free and it actually was! Other products offered free winmail.dat openers and then required payment.
The winmail opener downloaded quickly and as quickly opened my .dat document. Thank you for the excellent product and service.

Hi there, I have used Winmail Opener 1.4 to open some pictures from my daughter and it worked perfectly. Before I found it I was getting very frustrated in having them open as gibberish in Notepad. Thank you for it and your concern. Regards Drew von Bratt

If only Microsoft didnt!
I couldn't retrieve the dat file from mail2web and therefore was unable to use the utility. I sent a message to the winmail originator requesting a non-proprietary format. As I use Outlook Express and dislike Outlook, I would like to know how to save the dat file to a PC folder. If I could do that the utility might then be useful. For the moment, I cant tell whether the utility works or not, is easy or not. Please view my ratings below as N/A or can't tell.

Not for me
We tried down loading this on a Mac. We finally had the company send it in another format.

Cannot handle Exchange NDR queue files
I am sure Winmail Opener is an excellent solution for winmail.dat files in non-Outlook environments. I was hoping that it would also be able to decode the TENF content of "lost" queue files from Exchange 2003. Alas, it couldn't.

Unsuiutable for Outlook
I downloaded Winmail Opener thinking that it could open up the .msg files produced in MS Outlook - it doesn't. I have Outlook on my desktop but only Outlook Express on my laptop. Whilst I can copy the messages from the desktop to the laptop, I cannot read them. I don't have any adverse comments to make against Winmail Opener - it was just not what I expected.

Review from Vaibhav
It is easy to use and value for money. It only can read the attachments and not the message. This is my observation, though few more tries are needed to confirm the same.
